Untitled “Back to the cultural heritage site of Quang Yen”, the two-day festival is scheduled to officially kick off on July 1 at Coc temple and Cua Dinh river in Quang Yen town.
According to organizers, the event will include a wide range of activities such as acts of worship, “going to the field” rituals, a swimming competition, folk song contest, a rice transplanting contest, etc.
This is a long-lasting traditional festival of local people in Quang Yen town’s Ha Nam area. It aims to encourage farmers to boost agricultural production in the upcoming agricultural session.
Located in the western part of Quang Ninh province, Quang Yen is an ancient land, with maintained vestiges and wonderful natural areas. Customs, habits and festivities of the Quang Yen town are characterized by inhabitants of the Red River Delta of Vietnam. The town also possesses important vestiges such as the Phong Coc Communal House, Tien Cong Temple, Bach Dang Stake-Yard and the centuries-old Cay Lim - Gieng Rung.
