Fossil coal : The fossil coal reserve is about 3.6 billion tons, most of which belong to antraxit group and have stable content of carbon of 80-90%. This kind of mineral mainly concentrates in 3 zones: Hòn Gai, Cẩm Phả - Dương Huy and Uông Bí – Mạo Khê. About 30- 40 million tons can be exploited annually.
Mines of limestone, clay, kaolindeposits are rather great, widely distributed in the province. Specifically, limestone deposit is in Hoành Bồ, Quang Hanh; Kaolin deposits are in mountainous districts of Hải Hà, Bình Liêu, Ba Chẽ, Tiên Yên and Móng Cái Town; clay deposits are distributed mainly in Đông Triều, Hoành Bồ and Giếng Đáy (Hạ Long city). These are important material sources for the production of building materials for domestic market and export.
Mineral water deposits : There are many drinkable mineral water deposits in Quang Hanh (Cẩm Phả), Khe Lạc (Tiên Yên), Đồng Long (Bình Liêu). Besides, there are also undrinkable mineral water sources concentrated mainly in Cẩm Phả with rather high concentration of mineral substances, more than 350C, which can be used for disease treatment./.
