Quảng Ninh has a numerous land resources of 611,081.3 hectares, of which cultivated land accounts for 75.370 hectares, 146,019 hectares are forest land including large areas can be used to grow grass for breeding; about 20,000 hectares can be used to grow fruit plants.
Out of the total of land area, cultivated land accounts for only 10%, land covered with forests 38%, unused land is still very large (43,8%) concentrating in mountainous and coastal areas, the rest is for special uses and housing.
