Local fishermen sailed their fishing boats to Dau Be Island to make offerings at Ba Men Temple.

The ceremonial rituals were held in a solemn atmosphere, with offerings and incense presented to pray for calm seas and favorable weather in the year ahead. The festival also offers an opportunity for fishermen to express gratitude for the protection and blessings believed to have been bestowed by Ba Men over the past year.

For coastal communities, Ba Men is believed to be a sacred deity who protects fishermen from storms and rough seas.

Festive activities featured traditional boat races, helping strengthen community ties among fishermen from the coastal areas of Ha Long, Cat Ba and Quang Yen.

Two teams competed in a traditional boat racing in the waters surrounding Dau Be Island.

The event was held in a safe and orderly manner while contributing to the preservation and study of traditional cultural values. It further highlights the rich cultural diversity of Ha Long Bay, where magnificent natural landscapes coexist with the distinctive spiritual life of local fishing communities.
