A climb to the summit amid the lush green landscapes of Cao Xiem.
Dubbed the “roof of Quang Ninh” at 1,429 metres, Cao Xiem impresses with its unspoiled beauty and moderately challenging trekking route. The approximately 7-kilometre trail winds through dense forest, gradually opening from shaded canopies to breezy mountain slopes before reaching cloud-covered elevations near the summit.
Day 1 is devoted to conquering nature. The appeal lies not in distance, but in the constantly shifting terrain and scenery. As the forest gradually falls away, the landscape opens up, winds grow stronger, and clouds begin to drift at eye level, creating the sensation of stepping into another world. Reaching the summit is a well-earned reward. From here, panoramic views unfold across layers of mountains and hidden valleys, and on clear days, a sea of clouds stretches to the horizon.

A memorable moment to admire the scenic beauty of Cao Xiem’s mountains.
After the climb, visitors camp overnight at an altitude of over 1,200 metres. In the cool and open air, people gather around a campfire to enjoy local specialties such as grilled free-range chicken and pho cham—simple yet distinctive flavors of the highlands.
Day 2 offers a deeper insight into local culture. Guided by local residents, visitors learn about traditional medicinal plants, take part in harvesting forest produce, sample wild fruits, and explore the customs and daily life of local ethnic communities.

A breathtaking panoramic view of Cao Xiem Mountain
The blend of pristine landscapes and rich cultural identity gives the Cao Xiem journey its unique appeal. Beyond a nature-based exploration, it represents a community-based tourism model linked to local livelihoods, contributing to the development of sustainable, green tourism in Binh Liêu.
